"To learn to read is to light a fire; every syllable that is spelled out is a spark."— Victor Hugo, Les Miserables

Rebecca R.H. Spriggs grew up in the small town of Ellettsville, Indiana (a "stone's throw" from Bloomington).  She completed her B.S. in English Education at the University of Evansville in 2002, and she earned her M.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2005.

In 2006 she became a National Board Certified Teacher, and in 2008 she was named the North Carolina English Teacher of the Year by the NCETA. In 2009, she received the Trinity High School Teacher of the Year Award from her colleagues and the THS Yearbook Dedication from the graduating senior class; both of these honors will forever hold a special place in her heart because to Becca they simply say, "We believe in you!"

She currently resides in North Carolina with her husband Matt, their daughter Maya, and their mischievous dog Pepper
